Our guest accommodation was finally finished and named ‘Totem Lodge’ just in time for Steve’s sister and brother in law, who made the trip up from Canberra in February. After the heat of our last trip, we got sucked in to buying a ‘Ice Wrap’ at the local centre. We are now of the opinion that any old cloth dipped in water would have been as effective – and cheaper by far! This was a great trip with lots of laughs and a great opportunity to show them the beautiful Whitsundays. We did the walks at Cid Harbour and Tongue Bay (even witnessing nature at its best with a huge python devouring a big rat – or it could have been a small snake eating a mouse), snorkelling at Butterfly Bay and kayaking in Nara Inlet.
